Bride Speaks

Wes & I have a unique story behind us.  If I were to describe it, I think we are destined for each other.  Let me tell you why..

I met Wes in late 2009 at Lawson.  He was a newbie back then.  He was introduced to me by one of my officemates who was his former officemate in FNS (thanks Lai).  I don't know what's with that introduction but really, I can still remember the moment that Lai introduced him to me. Not that I am attracted to him, duh, hehe, but maybe there is something.

He was part of the other team that is why I never get a chance to interact with him. Until the time that we were chosen to be a part of the team who will join the Christmas Party presentation. I am one of the dancers and he was part of the music/props committee.

We won! It was then that we started to talk to each other, became part of a barkada, hangout and drink. And the rest is history =)

Then how come I said we are destined? Let’s turn back time….

When we started to chitchat, we found out that we have worked under the same company – BPI.  What’s weird is that, we never knew that we were officemates and that we are part of the same division for a month.  I was transferred to that department on November 2006, and he resigned on December 2006. I can say that I knew almost 90% of the people in that division, and there are just a few whom that I didn't know.  I've been actively participating in the presentations of ISG christmas party in BPI but it was the first time that I didn’t participate and didn't even check their practices.  When I saw our division's entry, I told myself that we lost because I was not there, hehe! (joke).   The funny thing is that, I didnt know that Wes was part of the dance (the reason why they lost, haha).   Also during our division Christmas party, I saw lots of pictures where he is actively participating in the games, while I was just sitting in a corner.  Here's another thing. Wes became a part of the CIMS team (group of about 15 people) before he resigned.  After a month, I was transferred to CIMS team.  It was such a small world for us but maybe it was not yet time for us to meet.

I'm the 2nd person from the left in red              Wes is in the middle back (2nd tallest)

The team in left was then transferred to the team in right by the time Wes resigned

BPI is just a part of the history.  Here is a stranger one.

Back to the stage that we are getting to know each other, we used to do road trips.  Wes is from the South (Alabang) and I'm from Central NCR (San Juan).  One time, while he is driving, I asked him if he knows lots of places in the North like Caloocan and Valenzuela. He said in a jiffy “Yes, I know those places because I grew up in Batimana”.  I said “What? Batimana?”.  Why say Batimana when you can say I grew up in Valenzuela.  Or in Marulas, Valenzuela.  Batimana is just a small compound in Marulas and many people might not know it if you tell them you're from there.  And why am I stunned?  Because my mom grew up in Batimana and it is our second home.  I also spent sometime there when I was a child.  I was 1989 Little Ms. Batimana (runner up) hehe!  We spend every Christmas there until now.

Maybe our mothers have crossed their paths when we are still on their tummies.  As a child, I might have sang at their home when we did carolings.  He might be one of the children who were playing in the lot where I had an accident.  He might be one of the people who watched Little Ms. Batimana.

And here’s more.  When we are gathering requirements for our marriage, we found out that we were baptized in the same church and by the same priest.  I was baptized on May and he was baptized on July 1984.  These two people who are born 21 days apart are baptized 2 months apart. Our records are even written on the same book..

It is funny to think that we were connected even before we met each other.  Maybe the parts of the lives where we almost crossed our paths is not yet our time.   God prepared us to be better persons so that when we'll meet, we already learned a lot in life.  We were made for each other.  God made a way for us to meet at the right place at the right time.

Now tell me, are we really destined to be together? =)

/their family

Never did it matter to Wes that I already have Leila in my life.  Infact, we became stronger and became a family.   We are really thankful to God that he gave me and Leila such a wonderful man.

June 2012 when we started planning our wedding.  We already booked the church and it was set on May 3, 2013.  But after 2 months, God made another plan for us and gave us a gift.  So we had a change of plan.  We had our civil wedding on November 15, 2012 and moved our church wedding to November 15, 2013 (same date).  So in Tagaytay, we’ll be celebrating the blessing of our marriage and our 1st year anniversary =)

April 3, 2013 when Lauren Rafaelle was born =)
